Interdisciplinary Project: Preserve My Nature, Preserve My Culture

Al Azhar 9 Islamic Junior High School Bekasi presents an interdisciplinary project themed Preserve My Nature, Preserve My Culture as an effort to foster students’ awareness of environmental sustainability and the preservation of Indonesian culture.

This project integrates various subjects such as Science, Social Studies, Cultural Arts, Indonesian Language, and Pancasila Education to provide a creative, collaborative, and meaningful learning experience. Through this activity, students are encouraged to understand the importance of protecting nature while appreciating the richness of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

In its implementation, students participate in various educational and creative activities, such as cultural performances from different regions of Indonesia by showcasing traditional regional costumes and traditional dances that reflect the richness of Nusantara culture. Students also create traditional houses from recycled materials and deliver presentations about regional culture and environmental conservation. These activities aim to build students’ character to become more caring, responsible, and passionate about their nation and surrounding environment.

Through this interdisciplinary project, students are expected to become a creative generation with a global perspective while continuing to uphold the values of Indonesian culture and environmental sustainability.
