Isra and Mi'raj of Prophet Muhammad
Isra’ Mi’raj of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a significant event in Islamic history commemorated every 27th of Rajab in the Hijri calendar. It marks the night journey of the Prophet from Masjid al-Haram in Mecca to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem (Isra’), followed by the ascension to Sidratul Muntaha to receive the command of the five daily prayers (Mi’raj). This event is believed in and commemorated by Muslims worldwide as a means of strengthening faith and deepening the meaning of the prayer ritual. The commemoration of Isra’ Mi’raj is usually filled with religious lectures, recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, shalawat, and collective prayers, so that Muslims may better understand the wisdom of obedience, steadfastness in faith, and the importance of maintaining the quality of worship in daily life.
